How to read it
The early swings come from a handful of sellers with little stock. The flatter stretch afterwards is supply catching up. Sellers differ in stock, speed and delivery, so a gap between the market floor and one seller's price is normal.

About these numbers
Why does the log start so high?
In the first days of the beta there was little gold in the world and only a few sellers. A thin market can ask almost anything; the price fell as more farmers arrived and undercut each other.
Why is there a gap in late September?
Readings stopped between September 24 and September 29 while the collector was being repaired. The chart leaves that stretch empty instead of drawing a line across it.
Is the seller table a Coinguild price list?
No. Each name in it is an independent seller asking its own price. We copy what they ask, convert it to dollars and line the numbers up. Our seller's offers live in the guild bank tabs.
Will these prices hold at launch?
No. Beta gold ends with the beta on October 21, and the live game opens on November 4 with an empty economy. Read this log as a record of the beta, not as a forecast.
